About Gordon
Back in 1956 I started my five-year apprenticeship, gaining a City and Guild's in Stonemasonry in 1961. In the early years, I gained a lot of experience working with marble & granite. I worked on various projects in London and the south-east, including Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, 10 Downing Street, Westminster Abbey & St Paul's Cathedral. I have worked on projects for Sir Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, & Delia Smith. Furthermore, I also spent two years teaching Stonemasonry in London in the seventies.
In 1977, I was fortunate to work alongside renowned sculptor Dr Arthur Fleischmann on the perspex crown for the Queen's Silver Jubilee. In 1978, I moved to Norfolk, working on several projects including Norwich Cathedral & Delia Smiths T.V Kitchen, for which we won a national stone work award. I started working at Melton Hall in 2004, and continue to do so, carving exquisite pieces of Stone.
